How to Make Momma’s Chocolate Pies

This is one of my favorite episodes and dishes.  I love having momma with me.  She is 88 now and I enjoy each moment that I have with her.

Use deep dish pie shells and cook as instructed. 5 tablespoons of Cocoa 6 eggs with yokes separated from the whites 1 1/2 cups of sugar 8 tablespoons of self-rising flour 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract 5 cups of milk 1/2 of stick of butter 1/2 teaspoon of salt Blend together cocoa, sugar, flour, salt in your pot. Add milk, vanilla, butter and eggs and cook over low to medium heat. You must stir continuously so the pudding will not burn Stir until it is thick like a pudding After the pudding has thickened, pour the mixture into the already prepared pie crust. Meringue 6 egg whites 5 tablespoons of sugar 1/2 teaspoon of cream of tartar Beat until you have really nice peaks Place meringue over the top of the chocolate pies and bake in the oven at 325 degrees Fahrenheit until the meringue is brown to your liking. Enjoy!
